Terra:Forms is an immersive, multi-room permanent exhibition by artist Benjamin Knock exploring the geo-physical forces that continue to shape the Finnish landscape. Inspired by Ostrobothnia’s ongoing post-glacial rebound—one of the fastest land-rise phenomena on Earth—Terra:Forms examines the slow emergence of new terrain through hand-blown glass, cast brass sculpture, locally sourced stone, large-scale paintings, suspended molten-form installations, LiDAR-based animations, and immersive sonic environments.

rawing connections between deep planetary processes and the visible transformation of the Nordic environment, the exhibition reveals a landscape that is not static, but continuously formed through immense forces acting across vast scales of time. Across a series of interconnected environments, Terra:Forms traces the movement of energy from the Earth’s interior to the surface and beyond. Geological uplift is presented as an active structure linking core, mantle, crust, atmosphere, and cosmos, transforming scientific phenomena into immersive sensory experiences. Visitors move through atmospheric chambers filled with sculptural forms, resonant soundscapes, and large-scale moving-image works generated from geological field research and LiDAR scanning technologies.
